Project 7 Reflection Journal

In this project, I made my Flash Portfolio and then I inserted it in an html document. In the homepage, I have a video of myself explaining the skills that I have learned in web design throughout the whole 2 years. There are pop ups at the cue points of the video. When you click on the homepage button, you can see the index of my html portfolio. When you click on the index button it goes back to the homepage of my flash portfolio. When you click on the labs buttons it shows the list of all the labs I've made using Flash and when you click on the lab number it goes to that specific lab. When you click on my projects button, a list of the projects I've created using Flash are listed there and you can go access those projects. It was really fun animating the pop ups by adding motion tween, rotating it, and adding glowing effects. I found this project to be organized and it came out well. I had a bit difficulty with having the video show up but with troubleshooting I managed to solve the problem.

Lab 29 reflection journal

In the video I read out the brief speech that I wrote for my Flash Portfolio video. I talked about what I learned throughout the whole two years I've been in web design. I mentioned the different softwares such as Photshop, Dreamweaver, TextEdit, Illustrator, Fireworks, Indesign, and Flash. I gave examples of the labs and projects I had to do using these softwares. For Flash, I had to create an interactive story, video game and a respect for all animation. For Photoshop, I created a silhouette mask and created a logo. In Indesign I created a yearbook, newsletter and a business card. Using Fireworks I created a website prototype, banner, and a nameplate. In Dreamweaver and TextEdit I made websites based on my favorite teacher and my favorite movies and more uploading it onto the remote server. I mentioned my favorite project which was the website based on my favorite cartoon character using Fireworks. I also talked about a struggle I had, being shy, and how I was able to overcome it by gaining more confidence and geting used to speaking outloud in front of others.

Lab 30 reflection journal

In this lab, I created a flash homepage for my flash portfolio. I made the dimensions 900 pixels by 1000 pixels. In my flash portfolio homepage I put the title and buttons for my labs, projects and homepage. I put in the pop up drawings that I made in the library and I imported my video as a flv onto the stage. I had to convert my mov file to flv first. Then I inserted cue points so that the pop up would appear on one cue point and disappear on another key point. To do that I went on my code snippets-video and audio handler-on cue point event. In the beginning I had to make the pop ups not visible so I put the code instancename.visible = false; and then I made the pop ups appear and disappear on its cue events. I found this lab to be very fun and interesting.

Lab 28 reflection journal

In this lab, I used the bone tool in Adobe Flash CS6 for the first time. I used the bone tool to animate the tail of my cat. I first selected the bone tool and then I clicked and dragged from the base to the top of the tail of my cat. Then in my timeline, I put a keyframe at 50. In between the frames I changed the position of the tail so that it would look like it is wagging back and forth, Then I tested it out with command enter and after seeing that it worked I opened up my base lab 28 html file. I inserted the swf file and uploaded it onto the server. This lab was a bit weird for me since it was my first time using the bone tool. At first I wasn't even sure if I was doing it correctly and also it was kind of hard to position it. After more time and practice with the bone tool I will get more comfortable using this tool.

Project 6 Reflection Journal

For this project I had to create a video game. My video game is about a ghost chasing a girl and the girl has to escape the ghost by going to the exit door. There are 3 levels of the game and you have to pass all 3 levels to win the game. This project was overall a good and fun experience. I learned some new actionscript coding and the results of the coding was pretty cool. For example I learned about hit test object and also how to make a boundary so that the girl doesn't go off the screen. It was a bit hard because I tried to make it so that there was no way the person playing the game could cheat while also having a great time playing the game. I tried to put in the skills that I've learned into this project with new skills that I learned through research. First I made a storyboard. Then I made the all the graphic, button and movie clip symbols. Then I animated my movie clip symbols and I started coding/experimenting. Finally I made sure that everything works. When I finished I put my swf file into my html file and uploaded it onto the server. Enjoy the game!

CW Self Evaluation Reflection Journal

This marking period some of my grades for my classes went up, some went down, and some remained the same compared to the last marking period. To maintain my grades and try to keep them up, I mostly need to study daily more for my quizzes/tests because if I get low test scores then my grade will go down. And if I do well then my grade would either stay the same or get higher. I have to continue going to my classes on time and do all of my classwork and also all of my homework when it's due. I have to continue listening and following directions so I know what to do and what's expected so I can fulfill the requirements and get a decent grade. Another way I can improve is by participating in my classes and asking questions because I don't participate much in my classes since I am a bit shy. I also need to put more effort and hard work into my projects and assignments. So by doing all of this I will be able to maintain my grades and/or make them higher for the next marking period.

Soft Skills-Synopsis Reflection Journal

The synopsis is basically a combination of all of the soft skills. These skills are enthusiasm and attitude, communication, teamwork, critical thinking and problem solving, networking and professionalism. With enthusiasm and attitude you show how badly you want to succeed and how much you are willing to try. In web design we always try our best and we show our efforts with our labs/projects/assignments. Communication skills are used to share ideas with others in the workplace and be able to be understood. In web design we use communication skills to receive the information that's taught to us by the teacher to do our work. Teamwork benefits the members of the group and manages time more efficiently. More work will be able to get done. Employers will look at you in a high valuable way with your creativity in critical thinking and problem solving skills. Also you will be able to learn how to troubleshoot the problem easily if you come across the same problem again later with your html or flash file with use of those skills. Networking is important because the people that you know can also help you by suggesting you to visit places online for jobs that you want. This will make a broader range of communication with others. Professionalism means finding ways to be productive and communicating effectively. This soft skill is used when we manage our time wisely and come in class and try to accomplish more than what's expected. All of these skills are connected with each other and are very useful and helpful.

Soft Skills-Networking Reflection Journal

Networking is an important soft skill used in web design because the more connections you have with people, the more opportunities come your way, including opportunities that aren't advertised. An example of networking was when we went on a field trip to the CS fair. We met with different companies which we had some knowledge on. We introduced ourselves to the speaker of the booth and we found out a bit more about the company and the programs that they offered and also we tried to impress them with our resumes. It is important to have a good network of people so that you are able to be well prepared and find more connections that will be useful to you in the future when looking for a job or for getting help relating to your workplace. Networking skills would help us with finding an internship at a company. Also as web designers we have to do a lot of research so that also helps build our networking skills.

Soft Skills-Teamwork Reflection Journal

One of the important soft skills used in web design is teamwork skills. In visual design when I had a group project of making a yearbook I had to use this skill. Developing teamwork skills helps get your group organized and also it helps you make different connection with people. Everyone in the group was assigned with a specific responsibility, like graphics designer, photographer, manager, leader and writer. Working with others that have different sets of skills will make finishing the work faster and ideas will be more creative. Every person takes responsibility for their task and accomplishes it to the best of their capability. This is important because it shows how you are able to work with any type of person that you team up with whether you know them or not.  Giving credit to your teammates is important because without their help the final product wouldn't have been able to be produced and also no one would want to work with a person if they don't give any credit to them at all when they worked together. The skills required to work with others is making use of time, sharing ideas that you do not have to necessarily agree with and getting different opinions for improvement and trying to accomplish/achieve the same goals.

Soft Skills-Critical Thinking and Problem Solving Reflection Journal

This soft skill is important in web design because we are always making big decisions and we need to be able to have a good judgement. For example one of the big decisions you have to make is what to base your interactive story and video game on and how you're going to plan it out. Also employers are looking for employees that are able to assess a problem and solve them. Like in web design when working on your html file in Dreamweaver you can come across problems with trying to upload the file into the server so you have to be able to figure out what the problem is and solve it so you can upload your work and submit it. Another example could be when you're working on your AS in your flash file and there could be a problem with the swf, like it won't go to the next scene or it keeps on blinking showing the scenes at a rapid pace. You have to be able to know how to troubleshoot it and you can use the compiler errors panel for help with that when you review the action script you put in. You might have forgotten to put in the stop(); line of code or you didn't put the correct instance name in the coding or there is a duplicate function. There is always a problem everyday and being able to handle them is an important skill.

Soft Skills Enthusiasm and Attitude Reflection Journal

In the enthusiasm and attitude skills video it showed two different scenarios that shows a guy going for a job interview. In the first scenario the guy came to his job interview wearing jeans, sneakers and a sweater. He put his feet on the table was talking informally to the interviewer. He didn't make an good impression and was clearly unprepared. He didn't answer the questions with the attitude of making an effort to get the job and showed that he did not care which was very clear to the interviewer. In the second scenario is shows a guy going on time for his job interview wearing a suit. He had good posture by sitting up straight and made eye contact. He answered her questions with confidence and told her how he was going to try his best and showed his effort.
This shows that enthusiasm and attitude is a necessary skill needed for a job. With the positive attitude and good enthusiasm it makes a good first impression. This skill is important in web design because it gives you an advantage over other applicants when you're competing to get a job and also it makes the employer actually remember you from the many people that were interviewed since you made that deep first impression. Also in web design when we are presenting our projects to the class we dress up professionally so that the viewers will take us seriously and pay attention to us. We also have to talk loudly so everyone can hear us and not show any signs of nervousness and interact with the audience and also we have to be enthusiastic. If you're not enthusiastic, the audience will notice and see that you don't really care and don't want to be doing this and they will get bored and they won't be enthusiastic either.

Soft Skills-Communication Reflection Journal

One of the important skills needed when you work is communication. The video on communication skills was about an employee speaking in text language with the customers. They were not able to understand her and made complains about her to the manager. The manager talked to her about it so she would correct it. She realized that she used text language all the time and tried to stop after her conversation with her manager. This shows the importance of being able to communicate with others well. If you don't communicate well with others they won't be able to understand you and it will make work difficult. You have to interact with others on a daily basis.
This skill is important in web design because you have to be able to communicate with the people you're working with (classmates) and also the person you are working for (the teacher). If you can't communicate then ideas of how to plan out the project and the tasks each person has won't be shared so it would be confusing since you won't know what you're doing or what you have to do. We need communication skills to receive information to others and to give information to others. It would be frustrating for the person you are working with (teammates/peers) if you can't communicate with them which would highly lead to being kicked out of the group or failing to meet the deadlines so communication skills are very important.

Soft Skills-Professionalism Reflection Journal

A skill we need to learn and/or improve on is professionalism. In the video it showed an employee talking to his manager. He came in late and his manager discussed with him about his plans to get earlier next time for work. Then the manager tells the employee to do more than what he is told and putting in more effort is professionalism. This shows us that professionalism is always being prepared and on time for work. It also shows how motivated, passionate and determined you are about your work.Your abilities are proven through your hard work.
Professionalism means conducting yourself with responsibility, integrity, accountability and excellence. It means finding ways to be productive and communicating effectively. This soft skill is important in web design because professionalism is expected of you in your job and when you get an internship, paid or non-paid, you need this skill so you can highly impress your employer and maybe get an actual permanent job in the workplace. Another reason why professionalism is important in web design is because your client will want to work with you again due to how you were well behaved and how you worked diligently and may introduce/recommend you to other clients. Also using this skill in web design will help you get accustomed to it so you are well prepared in the future when going on a job interview or any job fairs.

Project 5 Interactive Story Reflection Journal

For this project, I made an interactive story using Flash CS6. The interactive story I made was about a girl who enters her house and behind her is a mouse that sneakily came in and when she sees the mouse she screams for her cat to come. When her cat comes then she tells her cat to go catch the mouse and her cat goes to find the mouse and chases it, eventually catching it. Then the cat goes to it's owner with the mouse caught and she praises the cat. For this project I used graphic, button and movie clip symbols. First I drew all the graphics that I would need and then I selected it all and converted it into a graphic symbol. Then to animate it I right clicked on it and converted it into a movie clip and I converted some of the graphics into a button so it could be as interactive as possible. I used AS that told the movie clip to stop looping, to go play the next frame and to go play the next scene or go to a scene and play.
I put animation and AS on my movie clip and buttons and the scenes so that I could just put drag it onto the scene so my scenes only have one key frame for my layers: actions and content and when you double click on the movie clips you can see the key frames for the animation and also for the AS. On my buttons I changed the color in the hit and down area so that it would be noticeable that it's a button and to click on it. I also put some instructions that would allow the user to go through the story easily so they wouldn't be confused about what to click to continue the story. Then when I finally finished then I inserted sound in my buttons. I made the sounds in GarageBand. And then I inserted the swf file into my HTML document and uploaded it onto the server. I tried to improve on my project so I made a few changes to the flash file under another name and then I made a table on my html document that shows the before and after of my project. i improved my project by putting in more narrative.

The Armory Track Reflection Journal

In this trip, I went to the armory track where I met and saw a lot of different people in the CS Fair. There were many different booths of colleges and also big and small companies such as Facebook, Google, Hunter, NYU, and C/I. This was a good experience because I was able to learn skills like how to introduce myself, since I am a bit shy it helped a bit with my communication skills since I was asking a few questions and interacting with others. And it also helped me get a good idea of what I am interested in and also I learned new things. I learned a bit more about java-script at one of the booths and it got me more interested in learning it. I got a bit more exposure to different careers and I found the trip to be a good opportunity to find out where my interests lie.

The New York Historical Society Field Trip Reflection Journal

For this trip I went to The New York Historical Society to learn about the history of computers in New York. Before we went there we were in Central Park learning about storytelling so it could help assist us in our interactive story project. We found out the story of the monuments. Then when we went in The New York Historical Society we saw a movie about the history of New York. Then we went on with our tour about learning the history of computers. I learned about Silicon City. I learned about inventions that have been invented to solve problems. One of them is The Punched Card System which was designed to count the nation's population fast because the census took too long. This object solved this problem by recording data on cards punched with holes which could be read by tabulating machines. Another technological innovation that solved a problem was IBM's System/360 that could tackle virtually any task simply by changing software. The problem it solved was that early computers were built only for a specific task so there wasn't computers that had multiple tasks but with this object you could perform multiple tasks by changing the software. Beginning in the 1960's, New Yorkers in a number of different fields started using computers for work outside the fields of science and business. IBM made computers seem exciting and user friendly for the public with their designed logo and also with the small computers. As computer technology has changed, the computers became smaller and were able to perform more tasks. I saw how computer technology changed music and gaming.

Lab 27 Reflection Journal

For this lab, I opened up my lab 26 flash file and I saved it as lab 27 in my lab 27 folder. Then I created 2 new scenes by going to insert-scene. In the second scene I used the rectangle tool with a red fill color to make a red background then I used the text tool to write oopps you lose. Then I created a button that says try again and I changed it's color in the hover and down area. I renamed the layer that had the background and button as contents. Then I clicked on the button and went to the properties panel and gave it an instance name. In the third scene I repeated the steps except that I used a green fill color and I put the text congrats you win and the button that I made said start over again. Then I selected the button and went to my actions panel and I clicked on code snippets-timeline navigation-click to go to scene and play. I changed the scene to scene 1 so it would go back to that scene when I clicked on the button. I copied and pasted the code into my scene 2 actions panel and I changed the objects name and the functions name.
Then I went to my scene one and I put an obstacle and a x mark to show where the cat needs to go to and what to avoid so you won't lose. Then I selected the cat and I inserted a new code into my actions panel that tells ActionScript that if the cat goes into this area to play the scene where it says you win, and if the cat goes onto this certain area then to play the scene where it says you lose. This lab was a bit hard because I first had trouble with my code because it kept on blinking but then I read what was wrong in the compilers errors panel and I tried to fix it according to that and also I had reference to the code provided to me so I was able to fix the errors and make it work with both using the keyboard and the arrows. I really liked how it came out in the end and I am really happy with getting it work since I am still getting used to AS.

Lab 26 Reflection Journal

In this lab, I used ActionScript to move an object. First I used the rectangle tool to make a rectangle and I used the selection tool to make the rectangle turn into a triangle. Then I selected it and right clicked and converted it into a graphic symbol then I re-sized it and right clicked it and converted it into a button symbol. I named the instances after putting all the 4 buttons on the stage according to how the button looks. I renamed the layer with the arrow buttons as controls, then I created 2 new layers which I named objects and actions. Then I imported a cat from an external library and put it into my onjects layer. Then I went to my actions layer and I went to my actions panel and I clicked on code snippets and I went to event handlers and clicked on click mouse event and then I changed it according to the arrow button and also I gave my cat an instance name and I changed the signs and the coordinates. Then I clicked command eneter and when it worked then I went to code snippet, animation and I clicked on move with keyboard arrow. When I finished I uploaded it into the server after putting it into my html document. I liked this lab because I found it cool to know how to be able to move an object using the keyboards and buttons. Also I didn't have any difficulties completing this lab and I like how the final product came out.

Lab 25 Reflection Journal

For this lab, I used Actionscript 3.0 syntax on my flash file. First I opened Flash and then I created 3 layers in the order: actions, buttons, and content. Then I created 2 buttons on the first frame and I cretaed a frame on 10 and I gave the buttons instance names. Then on the content layer, I put the text home and I put a star on the frame 1. Then on frame 2 I inserted a keyframe and and wrote the word page 2 and I put a cat. Then on the actions layer, I made the first frame a keyframe and I went to windows actions and then typed in the code. When I finished I clicked command enter to see if it works and then I inserted it in my Dreamweaver file and uploaded it onto the server. This lab was a bit hard to do since it was my first time but I am glad that I got it to work out well.

Lab 24 Reflection Journal

In this lab I created a mask in my flash file. It shows a girl walking and then stopping to think about cars moving in perspective. I used the 2 animations I already had before and following the instructions from the handout given in class I created a mask. I used the ellipse tool and I right clicked on the new layer mask that I made and clicked mask and then I clicked command enter to check it out. I used the car animation and also I took one of the girls in my respect for all animation. I also created the background having the setting seem like it's night time. When I finished everything and made sure that it worked then I inserted it into my base html document for lab 24 and uploaded it onto the server. This lab for me was a bit hard because I got confused with the layers trying to make the background not cover the mask but then I found the solution to my problem. I also had a bit of a problem trying to update the swf file on Dreamweaver since it only showed how it looked before I edited it when I uploaded the html document but when I previewed it in a browser it worked. I also solved this problem by saving the flash file with another name and inserting that swf file in my html document and then it finally worked. Besides the problems I faced, this lab was okay. I am proud of how the final product came out looking. These skills will help me when I want to create a mask when using the software Adobe Flash CS6.

Lab 23 Reflection Journal

In this lab, I created an flash animation of cars moving in perspective of the vanishing point. First I created a new flash file and then I created the graphics I was going to use. I drew the scenery, the trees, and I also drew the back side of a car. Then when I drew everything using the shapes tool and converted it into a graphic symbol then I went online and I chose a car that has a front view. I went to PhotoshopCS6 to erase the background so I only have the image of the car and then i imported it into the stage of my flash file. I resized the image and then I converted the two cars into a movie clip. When I finished then I double clicked on the image and then I inserted keyframes, added motion tween and resized the image so it looks like the car is vanishing when it goes towards the vanishing point and the other car looks like it's getting bigger when it goes away from the vanishing point. Then when I finished I pressed command enter to make sure it works and then I inserted it into my base html document for lab 23 and I put a text hyperlink for the copyright and the brief explanation of this lab then I uploaded it onto the server.

CTE Expo Reflection Journal

The CTE Expo we did yesterday was about sophomores, juniors, and seniors showing their work to the freshman to make them interested in their CTE academy so they can apply to it. It took place in the CTE academies. In the CTE Expo, I saw the computers that displayed the juniors and seniors work and portfolios and on the tables there were boards of the business cards/logos that the sophomores did. Everyone in our web academy was dressed up professionally and we welcomed in the freshman classes that came to visit our academy. There were two people outside the door welcoming in the class and there were 2 other people giving out flyers about the academy and also there were people directing the freshman so that they would be able to see everything without it being too crowded.
The juniors, sophomores, and seniors approached the freshmans and talked to them about our web academy and also their works and how they did it and also their experiences. I saw a lot of people engaging in conversation and walking around looking at the work displayed. I think the CTE Expo this year went very well and it can improve if the freshman aren't too shy to ask questions that they want to ask because we were very well prepared and organized. We also were able to visit the other CTE academies, video and apple. I found the expo to be very nice especially since I could see what we are going to do senior year and I also would be able to improve my communications skills. So I found the CTE Expo to be very useful.

Project 4 Reflection Journal

In this project, I created an respect for all animation. The message this animation gives is to not judge others because they're different from them and to respect them instead. The storyline is that a group of people are together and a person that looks different from them comes and approaches them and they ignore her, leaving her all alone. I used Adobe Flash CS6 to create this animation. First I drew all the graphics and when I finished that I converted them into movie clips and using the timeline I inserted keyframes and then animated the objects to move. I enjoyed making the graphics for this project especially because I knew how to utilize the tools now and I made instances of the symbol so that really saved me a lot of time and was very efficient too for the file sizes. The hard part about this project was the timing. In the beginning I messed up and I restarted it because the scene came out different from how it was in the storyboard and I had to make adjustments for that. It was also a bit hard to get the timing to be right. Since it would be too fast and you wouldn't be able to read the words, so I had to extend the keyframes for that to make it slower but I didn't know how much to extend it by so it would go smoothly. So I tested it out when I pressed command enter and when I thought that it was at an okay pace, I left it like that. Then I published the sf file and i inserted it into my html document and then put a brief explanation of the project and what it was about and then uploaded it onto the server.

Lab 22 Reflection Journal

In this lab, I inserted sounds in my lab 20 buttons symbols lab. I opened a new flash file and imported an external library which was my lab 20 buttons and then I went to garageband to make the sounds for this lab. I made sure the sounds lasted between 2-3 seconds. When I finished making the sounds I went to share -export song to disk and saved it into my lab 22 folder. After I got all the sound, I went back to my flash file and I imported the sound in there. I created a folder to organize my library. I inserted the sounds in only the down area of my buttons by dragging it into the stage with the down area selected. When I finished that, I clicked command enter and then I made sure that all the sounds worked and then I inserted the swf file into my base html document and uploaded it onto the server. This lab was hard because I had to make the sounds and I needed to download the nature sounds but it took hours to download so I had to make my own sounds and it was very hard to create sounds that went along with my 10 objects but it was easy to insert the sounds in the buttons. I found it to be quite challenging because I never used garageband before and when I did it was a new experience so I think I could improve this lab if I have more experience with creating sounds.

Lab 21 Reflection Journal

In this lab. I made movie clips symbols using my lab 19. First I imported an external library which was my lab 19 flash file and opened it. Then I dragged the symbols and I selected the whole image and right clicked on it and clicked convert to symbol and made sure the type was movie clip. After I converted all the objects into movie clips and named it using camel case then I selected the whole stage and right clicked on it and clicked distribute to layers. Then I selected all frame 30s and clicked insert keyframe. Then I inserted a motion tween and I inserted more keyframes like position or rotation. Then when I finished I clicked command enter and adjusted the stage to accordingly. I also used the subselection tool to move the anchor points for the motion tween on the bird. Then when I finished everything I published the swf file and then I opened up my base html document for lab 21 and then I inserted it in and after writing the brief explanation of this lab, I uploaded it onto the server. This lab was a bit hard because I had to adjust a few things to make it all fit in together, like I had to change the size of the birdhouse so it wouldn't interfere with the flying bird. Also I had to match the timing for the snake and the tree and also try to adjust the clouds to make their animation look a bit the same. I liked how it overall came out nicely and worked.

Lab 20 Reflection Journal

In this lab I learned how to create a button symbol using Adobe Flash CS6. First I opened up my lab 19 file and saved it as lab 20. Then I selected the whole image that I created and I right clicked on it and clicked convert to symbol. Then when I did that I changed the type to button and I named it using camel case and then I clicked ok. Then I double clicked on the button and I inserted a keyframe on the hit area to make sure that it is the same as the up area. Then I inserted a keyframe in the over area and I modified it by either making the image bigger or by changing the color. Then I inserted a keyframe in the down area and then I modified the image by changing it to another color and by changing the size. Then when I finished I pressed command enter to test it out and then when I saw that it worked I did the same for the rest of the images. When I finished all of that completely then I published the swf file and then I opened up Dreamweaver CS6 and created the base html document for this lab by putting the 3 headings, the title, the navigation bar, and my overall.css then I inserted the swf file and I put a brief explanation of this lab and then uploaded it onto the server. I really liked this lab because it was fun to create the buttons and it was easy and not complicated. I liked trying to modify the images in the down and over area. This skill will help me in the future when I use Adobe Flash CS6 for my labs and projects and it will improve the content.

Lab 16.5 Reflection Journal

In this lab, I found a image of a pencil and I imported it into Adobe Flash and then using the shapes and line tools I created 2 pencils. I changed the full and the color so that there would be an yellow and a red pencil. I used the rectagle tool to create a rectangle and then using the selection tool I curved one of the ends. Then I drew another rectangle and I used the transform tool to make the ends pointy. I used a gradient fill for some rectangles for the end and another rectangle as the eraser. Then I used the text tool to write flash generated vector art vs. imported bitmap image. Then when I finished with my drawings I published it as a swf and then I inserted the swf file in my base html document which has my overall css and 3 headings. I also put a text hyperlink for the copyright of the pencil image. Then I uploaded it onto the server after writing the brief explanation of this lab using the paragraph tag. It was kind of confusing of what to do in this lab since I only had links to other students work for this lab. So I just created what I saw and assumed that they did for this lab. It was fun and easy to do since I got used to and comfortable in drawing in Adobe Flash.

Lab 19 Reflection Journal

In this lab, I created 10 graphic symbols: 3 of them which were objects, 3 of them which were animals, and 3 of them which were plants and one of my choice. I drew the pictures using Adobe Flash, the drawing tools. I drew a bird, 2 clouds, a sun, a tree, a rose, a flower, a bird house, a cat, and a snake. I used the shapes tool and altered the shape using the selection tool and and I also used the line tool. When I finished drawing an object, plant, and animal, I selected it all and right clicked then converted it into an symbol and made sure the type was graphic. Since the symbol is a graphic it doesn't move. Then I did command enter and I published it and then inserted it into my base html document with a paragraph of a brief description of what I did in this lab and uploaded it into the server using Dreamweaver. This lab was kind of hard for me because it was hard to use the selection tool to curve it the way that I imagined it and also I thought it might have been hard to tell what the drawing was. but it was fun thinking of what to draw and picking the color choices. This helped me get used to drawing in Adobe Flash and also to use my imagination and creativity in my labs.

Lab 18 Reflection Journal

In this lab, I created an animation of a happy face using Adobe Flash CS6. First I created a new adobe actionscript 3.0 and then I used the oval tool to make the eyes and pupils. I right clicked on it and clicked convert to symbol and I made sure that the type was movie clip instead of graphic so that it would move. I then inserted a keyframe on 30 and I moved the eyes and also I resized it in the middle and when I right clicked I clicked create shape tween. Then I used the line tool to create the mouth and I converted it into a symbol and then I used the selection tool to curve it at the end. Then I selected the whole face and converted it into a symbol and clicked and dragged it twice so that there would be 3 in total. Then when I had 3 in total I went to the properties panel and changed the colors in the color effects section. Then I published it and inserted it into my base html document with a brief explanation of this lab. Then I uploaded it onto the server and submitted it in jupiter grades and updated my labs index. This lab was fun and I liked using the selection tool to make the curve and it also helped me get used to the panels in Adobe Flash. These skills will help me in the future with my future labs that I will complete using Flash.

Lab 17 Reflection Journal

In this lab, I made flash animations with different speeds. In the first column of the table, there is the slow speed of the lab. In the second column, there is the normal speed of the lab and in the last column there is the fast speed of this lab. I made 3 different swf files and for the first one I made an ball and changed the color and in inserted keyframes in the timeline so that when I play it, it would move diagonally. I put the first file in the first row and inserted it by going to inset-media-swf. Then for the second one I clicked the onion skin outline and then inserted more keyframes so in total there are 5 keyframes from when the ball is going diagonally. I put the second file in the second row of the table. Finally for the last file, I cleared the keyframes and right clicked and clicked on motion tween. Then when I did that I moved the ball and it went smoothly diagonally. Then using the selection tool I curved it. This file is in the third row of my table. Then I inserted all of the swf files in dreamweaver into a table and put the headings and a paragraph with a brief explanation of this lab.

Project 3 Reflection Journal

In this project, I had to make a website based on my favorite teacher, which consists of: a homepage, a biography page, a fun facts page, and an contact information page. My favorite teacher is Ms. Kaso. I had to first interview her and when I got the information then I started to work on creating the website. I created 4 banners in Fireworks that says Homepage, Biography, Fun Facts, and Contact information. I used the unordered list, navigation and list item tag to create my navigation bar and with the external CSS stylesheet it is linked to, it enhanced how my navigation bar looks. I put a heading in all of the 4 webpages that says Project3: My Favorite Teacher by Sheima Begum.
I created an rollover in Dreamweaver by inserting a rollover in my html document for the homepage and I had a paragraph that explains why I chose Ms. Kaso as my favorite teacher. In the bio page, I made a table that contains paragraph list items in an unordered list that separated some parts of her biography.  I put an image dropdown using the division tag and specified the class and inserted the image. In the fun facts page, I added a javascript and linked it and other javascripts to my funfacts html document. I made a table that contains paragraph list items in an unordered list that listed fun facts about Ms. Kaso. In the contact information page, I put a text dropdown on my table that contained a paragraph in a list item in an unordered list that had how to contact Ms. Kaso; her email address and her office room at Information Technology High School.

Lab 15 Reflection Journal

In this lab, I created 3 dropdowns; a text dropdown, an image dropdown and an dropdown menu. In this lab, I created an external css stylesheet and the selector I had to add css to was .dropdown, .dropdown-content,.dropdown-content a, dropdown-content a:hover, .desc, .dropbtn .dropdown:hover .dropbtn, and .dropdown:hover .dropdown-content. And the tags I put in my html document was the 3 headings tag, the the div class tag, the button class tag and the span tag, the img src tag, the p tag and the a href tag. I used all of these tags so that when you go over my text dropdown it will say welcome to my website, in the dropdown menu I linked it to my labs index, my projects index and my homepage. I used the image dropdown to make the wordle of my favorite teacher so I could use it for my project3. I used w3schools.com for reference to make this lab. It was interesting and cool to see it actually work and I specified the colors to purple when you hover over it because it's my favorite color.

Lab 14 Reflection Journal

In this lab, I created an vertical navigation bar. When you click on the links, you go to my home portfolio, my projects index and my labs index. I did this lab using the list item tag, the unordered list tag, and the ordered list tag in my html document to make the navigation bar. I added an external css stylesheet to it to enhance my navigation bar so it would change colors when you go over it. I added 2 external css stylesheets; my overall css stylesheet and the one I created for my navigation bar. Then I wrote a brief paragraph explaining what I did for this lab. When I finished, I uploaded it onto Dreamweaver. I also had to place a navigation bar to all of my labs and projects. It was a bit hard trying to make my navigation bar look like one but I figured out how to change the width.

Lab 13 Reflection Journal

In lab13 I first created a base html document and then put three heading tags which says Digital Design Periods 2-3, Lab13 by Sheima Begum, and the date. Then I went on Microsoft Word to describe my favorite teacher, which is Ms. Kaso. The words I used were Ms. Kaso, English teacher, Information Technology High School, coach of the girl's soccer team, yoga club, nice, easy to approach, encourage students, dedicated, books, reading, plays, acting, friendly, funny, smart, considerate, helpful, passionate about teaching, caring, enthusiastic, motivated, outstanding, inspirational and amazing. Then I went on wordle and updated the javascript. Then I copy and pasted what I wrote in Microsoft Word on there and I repeated the words several times so that some words would be bigger than the others. When I finished then I took a screenshot of the image and then I inserted the image in my html document. Then I wrote a paragraph about what I did for this lab and then uploaded it onto the server using Dreamweaver.

Lab12 Reflection Journal

In this lab, I learned how to do server configuration, making a new site separately for each of my labs and projects. In the end I had 18 sites. The way I did this lab was I clicked on the menu bar and selected manage sites. Then I clicked on new site and I put the lab number or the project number in the site name and I selected the lab or project for the local site folder depending on whether I was making a new site for my labs or projects.. Then I went to servers and clicked add new server and then I completed the necessary information which was the ftp server name, my username and password. Then I named it as he Lab number or the project number in the server name. Then in the root folder I put the route from my uploaded files which was labs/lbnumber or projects/PRnumber.  Then when I finished it all I took a screenshot of it and inserted it in the html file for lab12. I have 3 headings which are Digital Design, Lab12 by Sheima Begum, and the date. Then I wrote 2 paragraphs: the first paragraph was a reflection of the work I did in this class last year and the second paragraph was on my new year's resolution. This lab took a lot of time but it made it more organized. It was easy when I understood the difference between the route directory and local site folder.
